Avant began writing lyrics at the age of 14 and has been focused on his craft since, drawing inspirations from contemporary R&B musicians like Bryson Tiller and Summer Walker, as well as pioneers such as Sade, Chaka Khan and Toni Braxton. His style is a concoction of candid lyricism and gentle composition. He played the violin and piano in his childhood, but is now solely focused upon lyrical elements. His most recent releases include Down Wichu and Nightswim. Determined to legitimise his passion and introduce his gift to a larger audience, he is currently working on his first extended play, from home.
